Three NPR iPhone and iPad Apps Nominees for Best App Ever Awards 2010

Bottle Rocket Apps is one of many developers for the iPad and iPhone that got lucky last year. Three of the firm’s applications for the iPad and iPhone have been nominated for the Third Annual Best App Ever Awards that is spearheaded and financed by 148Apps.

The Third Annual Best App Ever Awards is an annual competition that is unlike other competition, is intended to recognize the best applications for iDevices in iTunes. This award is also intended to publicize the best iPhone and iPad apps in terms of features and functions, not just the apps that users prefer to buy and download.

Nominees for the Best News App category are NPR for iPad, NPR Music and NPR News for iPhone and iPod touch. These nominated apps got 87,138 votes in less than a month, increasing three times compared to 2009. They competed with other nominees in the same category.

Each category has 10 nominees for iPad and iPhone apps. The public will decide on which apps will win. The selection of the apps will be based on the voters’ choice and voting will lasts until January 25. Winning apps will be announced at the 2011 Macworld Expo in San Francisco, CA.

The apps will also be featured for a limited time at the Best App Ever site.

Bottle Rocket’s president, Calvin Carter, is proud that NPR got three nominees for the award. Carter is hoping that NPR supporters around the world will support and give their votes for the nominated apps.

Bottle Rocket Apps is a firm that is known for creating apps that enhances the experiences for the iPad, iPhone, and other Android devices. This is not the first time apps from the firm got nominated in fact, it got apps that won for innovation and user-centered designs.

Bottle Rocket Apps developed 40 iPhone and iPad apps for known brand such as AARP, PBS, NPR, ESPN, The Seattle Times, Disney, and American Express.
