If you want to amplify the sound of your iPad’s speakers but don’t want to mess with huge speakers and subwoofers or a full-fledged speaker docks, iHome has a solution for you.
Its iDM70 “Sound Sleeve” case which was announced earlier includes built-in rechargeable flat stereo speakers based on NXT technology.
The iDM70 Sound Sleeve iPad case has its own integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery into a premium iPad case with NXT flat-panel speakers.
The company says that it will look like a protective faux-leather case with a protective inner silicone sleeve that has dock connector, cutouts for headphone jack, volume and on/off controls.
This sound sleeve case for iPad also can be used as a six-position stand for the iPad.
The integrated powered speaker will recharge via USB. System’s weight is about 1.2 pounds, which makes your iPad twice as heavier and it’s a little less cumbersome to carry around than an external speaker system.
iHome also introduced two other models of speakers which are the iDM15 and iDM12 rechargeable Bluetooth speakers. Both are powered by their own internal lithium-ion battery, rechargeable from any USB power source.
It’ll be very interesting to hear all of them in action.
iHome didn’t say anything concrete about the price and shipping terms so far.
