Some people who were using a Sprint Overdrive, found troubles with the connection. They found a way to minimize these issues with their iPad.

The Sprint Overdrive is using 64-bit WEP encryption to secure the Wi-Fi network. You can change the settings of your Overdrive to WPA2. This should be more reliable. A person who came up with this idea is James. He tested his connection and said that now nobody can jump on his open connection from the street.

By the way Apple is also trying to fix any possible iPad Wi-Fi issues by updating the support document. Reportedly, this will help to solve Wi-Fi connectivity problems with a future device software update.

Here are some suggestions presented by Apple Support:

1. You can update your Wi-Fi router firmware

Your Wi-Fi router firmware should be updated, especially if your router supports 802.

2. You can use WPA or WPA2

If you are using WEP security option, try to change it to WPA or WPA2. This will help to correct such issues as irregular disconnections. You won’t have to re-type of password all over again.

3. Renew your IP address

Try to renew the IP address by going to Tap Settings Wi-Fi (locate your network) – Renew Lease.

If nothing helps, you should contact Apple.
