Siri0us Allows to Install Siri Dictation on iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod Touch 4G

When Apple made a decision to make the Siri Assistant only for the iPhone 4S, hackers around the world took it as a challenge. Since then a couple of successful ports have proved that Siri does not need a dual core processor to function, however the quality of the microphone on older devices somewhat spoil the experience.

Now, we can easily get part of the Siri proxy experience thanks to a jailbreak tweak created by a developer Eric Day. The application, quite inventively called Siri0us which is available for download from Cydia right now, and costs nothing if you don’t mind a couple of ads in some places.

Siri0us purportedly allows the digital assistant to take dictation without the need of infringing on Apple’s policies. Eric Day explains his tweak as “Siri dictation for your iOS 5 devices. No iPhone 4S Siri proxy keys/files required.”

9. Try a test phrase, see that it really works.

10. If it works, go into Cydia>Manage>Packages>Siri0us>Remove.

11. Go to the settings app> General > Reset> Reset All Settings. Your phone will restart and show a loading bar just like you’re restoring it. Having done this, it will bring you to the setup screen as you restored. Go through it as you generally would, but ensure that at the end you click set up as new iPhone or it will remove all your stuff!

12. Go to the settings and put your settings back as you want.

13. Restart tethered once again.

14. Install Siri0us.

15. Respring.

16. So now Siri0us should work fast and never cause apps to crash. No Siri proxy needed!
