The war between two big companies Apple and Samsung is undeniable, but it has been recently revealed that business comes first, and grudge later; Samsung is the maker of A5 processor used in the iPad 2.
Samsung has been manufacturing parts for the Apple tablet, but you will never think that the relationship will continue after series of lawsuits both companies throw at each other. Months ago there were circulated rumours that the Cupertino Company is shopping for other companies that show potential of producing needed parts for its iOS devices particularly the iTablet.
Samsung is the company responsible for the creation of A4 processor used in the earlier version of Apple tablet. The original iPad brought billions of dollars to the Cupertino Company. Latest discovery confirmed that Apple’s arch enemy is actually responsible for the creation of the A5 chip that is running the iPad 2.
The two companies are found to be major business partners until now. This is another proof that when it comes to business grudges and conflicts can be set aside for the betterment of the companies.
Meanwhile, it appears that Apple never ceases to look for other companies that have the potential to replace its good old friend, Samsung. The company is currently said to be eyeing on companies like LG and Sharp, an issue that the late Steve Job’s company has not confirmed yet. Other reports stated that Korean companies are currently working on the production of the company’s new Internet and TV service that is expected to come out in the market next year.
The A5 processor is the tiny device that gives life to new faster, thinner, lighter, and fresh iPad 2 that was made available in the market early this year. The said chip is also said to be found in the iPhone 4S.
According to sources, A5 chips for iPad 2 are manufactured by one of Samsung’s companies located at Austin, Texas. Production of Apple parts is said to be taking a huge part of the plant’s production and operation.
The relationship of the two companies is not only controversial, but appears to be ironic. It can be remembered that Apple has successfully implemented a total ban of the Galaxy tab in Germany and Australia, yet Samsung benefitted from the revenue of the A5 chips it manufactured for its rival. The ban period shows strong sales of the iPad tablets that brings Samsung-manufactured vital parts in it.
Basically, Samsung enjoyed profits from the iPad 2 that is currently taking 75% of the total tablet sales in the market. Buyers are also consuming large volume of the iPhone 4S since its release though there is no concrete data yet on how the new Apple mobile is doing in the market. The bottom line is, despite of the fact that the two companies are currently on a never-ending chase saga, the reigning iTablet maker can’t still stand on its own.
The Cupertino Company on the other hand has not released a word, and declined to comment on the new issue.
