No Apple Event in February?

Just about yesterday, there was a rumor saying that a special Apple Media event will be held in February. That was quite strange and unusual, and not the announcement of a new product. The rumor was weird because it provided no details, and is from an untested source. Today, Jim Dalrymple at The Loop (a lot more reliable source) says there won’t be any Apple event of any kind this month.
Japanese blog Macotakara had updated its old state about Apple iPad3 release in February by saying that instead there was planned an “unusual” Apple event that didn’t involve new devices. None of these reports are true, and we can expect an iPad 3 announcement in March.
Jim Dalrymple, TheLoop:
“A number of news outlets picked up on a rumor from a Japanese blog this morning saying that Apple would hold an “unusual” event in February. This is not going to happen, according to my sources. Apple will not hold an event in February, unusual or otherwise. That’s it.”
A number of different sources have been confirming an early-2012 iPad 3 announcement for months, and March appears to be a great timeframe for this kind of Apple event. The iPad 2 was introduced in March of 2011. Apple’s next-generation device is expected to have a higher resolution display, much faster processor, and even Siri for iPad 3 integration.
Jim Dalrymple has always had quite a spotless reputation when it comes to Apple rumors. Do not expect any kind of Apple event in February. Nevertheless, March should prove to be rather interesting.
We all know that we shouldn’t believe in all the rumors that we hear around every day. When something seems unusual or perhaps hard to believe, it’s probably fake. But, most believable rumors, especially iPad 3 rumors are fake. If you do not hear something directly from Apple, just do not place any bets – a word to the wise.
