New iPad Boom in the USA

Though Apple released its new toy iPad two months ago in the USA, Americans experience a second wave of iPad boom now. One person can buy no more than 2 iPads and get only 2 official iPad cases that cost $40 each.

If you wish to get 3 iPads, it’s impossible; because your last name is listed in Apple’s database (you get your Apple ID). To get your device, you have to make reservation and wait for 2-3 weeks.

Once you have made your reservation, you get the following email from the Apple Retail Store team. See the photo.

When your reserved iPad arrives, you receive another email that says you have to pick up your device as soon as possible. See the photo.

If you don’t pick up your iPad in time, you’ll have to make a new reservation and wait till the next time it arrives to the retail store.

Of course, if you have extra $100-$150, you can buy somebody else’s reservation and get iPad in 2-3 days, iPad customer Andrew from New Yorksays. Such reservation-selling business is quite popular in America right now. But even you spend extra bucks you will still have to wait in line before you can get your hands on the iPad. It will still take you about 20 minutes to get through the line and enter the store to pick up the reserved device, according to Andrew.

When you buy an iPad in the USA, you pay its full price and tax that is 8.87 %. For example, if you reserve iPad Wi-Fi + 3G 64 GB you’ll have to pay $902.57 for it ($829 for your tablet and $73.57 as tax).

We have written about this before. You can’t cash and carry your iPad. Apple encourages the usage of plastic money to make payments for its devices.

Where else can you buy iPad in the USA? Well, if you don’t want to deal with Apple official stores and make reservations, you might like to check Best Buy stores as well at they have signed a contract with Apple and are officially allowed to sell iPad.

You can’t really buy an iPad at Best Buy now, because what you mostly see is that the devices are either sold out or coming soon, Andrew explains.

If you are looking for official iPad cases, you should also hurry up. These cool tablet’s accessories are usually sold out before noon. So it’s better to wake up early in the morning to be among those lucky iPad users who actually buy cases for their tablets too.
