Excellent, a company that gives secure mobility solutions, reports that based on new figures Apple’s iPad makes up 96% of the tablets started at the 2,000 companies that use its services. The iPhone is proving popular in the business also, with 53% of the smartphones activated being of the Apple variety…
They reported that of the top ten products it saw activated in the last quarter, Apple’s iOS 5 models included the top five slots.
The iPad has found itself being the main element in corporate tablets almost by accident, with iOS getting more enterprise-inspired security with every update. IT departments over the industry are clearly being inspired to set iPads up as work machines for team members – a sure sign that the tablet is great for more than watching YouTube videos and browsing Facebook.
The phone that nobody desired (iPhone 4S) took the lead, rapidly jumped to 31% of all activations in the quarter. iPhone 4 was next, followed by iPad 2, the first iPad, and iPhone 3GS. Good also said that Android activations had at first obtained some ground in October but “trailed off as activations of the iPhone 4S rapidly ramped up.” It seems to me that Android is “winning” in all areas indeed.
The Apple company also noticed that businesses associated with Life Sciences ”witnessed the highest rate of growth” and an rise in iPad deployments.” In addition, while Android fell during the fourth quarter in the launch of the iPhone 4S. It seems to me that Android’s growth slowing due to the iPhone’s growth has become a trend now. Quite amazing how only three iPhone models are beating Android in every area.
Not surprisingly, the newest iPhone 4S was the most activated hardware in the latest quarter. Thanks to extra features such as Sirion iPhone and an enhanced camera.
One of the greatest jumps in activations throughout 2011 was when Apple finally brought the iPhone 4 to Verizon, a sign that lots had held out in the hope the handset would come to America’s largest carrier.
