China Unicom, the only official and authorized carrier of iPhones and iPads in China, will be providing a new service to its customers.

The company is offering jailbreaking, installation of 10 most popular apps from Cydia, converting SIM Card to Micro-SIM, and a free case for every purchase of an iPad or an iPhone. Big banners promoting the offer can be seen outside some of the China Unicom’s stores.

This offer can be tempting to the consumers, however, the new iPhones and iPads are using the latest firmware, iOS 4.0.2 and iOS 3.2.2 that are not jailbreakable with Comex jailbreak tool JailbreakMe Star.

This can be a big problem since no one has the idea yet on how the company is going to offer the jailbreak.

An opinion from Apple about this issue can be very exciting since China Unicom has the company’s authorization for selling Apple products.
