Last week Apple offered an iTunes voucher worth $10,000 to the winner who will download the 10 billionth app from its App Store, but the lucky almost lost the fortune after dropping the call from Apple’s VP thinking it was a prank call.
Gail Davis who downloaded the winner app PaperGlider with daughter recalled that she just said she was not interested and dropped the call from Eddy Cue, Apple’s VP of iTunes.
She later realized the call was legit when daughters told her about the promotion from iCompany. Davis said she panicked when her daughters told Gail that she could have won the price from Apple.
Davis was relieved when iCompany called her again an hour later to confirm that she really won.
Lucky for her, the VP had the patience to call her again.
