Screen & Input

The specifications for the touch screen are as follows: its size is 25 cm about 9.7 inches and it is equipped with the liquid crystal display that is 1024 by 768 pixels and 132 ppi with XGA and also having finger prints resistance and a glass with scratch resistant. Similar to the iPhone that iPad is also designed for controlling by only fingers not even gloves and stylus and it is designed like that for use.

The display is responsible for responding to 2 other kind of sensors: one is ambience kind of light sensor for adjusting the brightness of the screen as well as a 3 axis accelerometer for sensing the iPad orientation as well as switching between the mindscape and portrait modes. It is not like the iPhone as well as iPod touch that used to wok in 3 different orientations, this iPad supports the rotation of the screen in all the 4 orientations and it means that this device is not having any up or down, but the position for the home button always changes. A number of iPad applications are supporting both the landscape as well as portrait modes.

This iPad is equipped with a switch that is used for locking its screen rotation function for the purpose of preventing the unintended rotation at the time when user is lying down. There are total 4 physical switches and those include a home button under the display that helps the user in returning to the main menu as well as other 3 plastic made physical switches on different sides for wake or sleep and up and down of volume level and with the lock for screen rotation.

Connectivity:

For connectivity purpose this iPad device can use the network trilateration for providing the information of location for some applications like Google maps. The 3G model of iPad consists of A GPS and both the models are equipped with the digital compass.

On the back side of the iPad with WiFi model is made of the aluminum that is contoured by means of black color plastic made buttons. The WiFi model with 3G is also equipped with the black color plastic accent situated on the top of this device and it helps with the 3G sensitivity of the radio. This iPad is not having any kind of port for the connectivity of wires.

 

Audio & Output

There are two speakers housed in the iPad and these provide mono type of sound by means of 2 small channels those are sealed in the assembly of interior speaker that uses to direct the sound on the outside of the 3 audio ports those are carved into the tight side of the bottom of the unit. The device is equipped with the microphone also. There is a switch for volume on the right side of this unit and also a connector with audio out jack that provides stereo type of sound for the headphones in the corner of the left side of the device.
