Here’s another interesting innovation that will take advantage of the iPad: BMW is rumored to install iPad mounting brackets in its coming X3 compact 4×4.
These brackets will allow the passengers to attach their iPads behind the driver’s seat, with a special hinge that will let the device turn into horizontal and vertical positions. This innovation makes the productivity and entertainment of the users endless while they are inside the car. They will be able to view videos, enjoy music, ebooks, and try thousands of iPad apps and games.
What’s more amazing about it is being able to surf the internet and access streaming music services while the car is traveling however, mobile broadband connectivity is shaky and unreliable when you’re moving, but it’s still an advantage to have it as an option.
Meanwhile, others are thinking if this innovation will work since the large screen of the iPad (9.7-inch display) brings too much light that can distract the vision of the driver while driving.
On the other hand it’s too early to worry about it since BMW has not made an official statement if the new iPad accessory is true, and when it will be released. We can also expect a high price for the add-on in case it will be released in the next BMW car model.
The confirmation of the innovation will probably be released next week in the opening of the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
