iPad 2 Optimizes Mobile Safari Performance Four Times Faster than Predecessor

Based on the test conducted by CNET UK, the iPad 2 outsmarted its predecessor, the iPhone 4, and other Android device like Google Nexus S and Galaxy Tab. iOS 4.3 also enhances the features of the original device on the iPad 2 making it a device to beat.

Further testing also shows that another device that uses iOS 4.3 Nitro JavaScript engine can deliver three times faster performance in JavaScript, but still trailing the performance of the new tablet.

The release of the iPad 2 will improve the web experience of the users who often use websites that rely on JavaScript, one of which is Facebook. For those who will stick with their original tablet, there’s no need to worry since upgrading the device with iOS 4.3 will make it faster particulary in opening heavy web pages.
