Ads for iPad 2 cases that were for sale in the Chinese e-commerce website Alibaba, have been removed to follow orders from the authorities.
The release of the iPad 2 is not yet certain, however, companies are now selling cases for this next generation iDevice.
The available cases include a hole at the back which signifies that consumers and manufacturers are anticipating that the second generation iPad will include a camera.
The colorful cases could be purchased for less than $3.00 each.
According to John Spelich, the spokesman of Alibaba, the company has received a valid order for the removal of the online listing, but did not give information about the complainant.
According to him, the company has stopped advertising the cases for iPad 2 since then.
Alibaba is a website for small business owners and suppliers that are mostly from China. The website have accepted orders for a minimum 200-500 units before the ad of the iPad 2 cases on sale was removed.
Apple is expected to release the iPad 2 in the middle of this year after selling more than eight million units of the first released iPads.
This might happen somewhere between April and September 2011.
The second generation iPad is expected to reach a sale of 37.2 million units this year.
Apple has not said a word about the release of the iPad 2 and how the device would defer from the current iPads, but consumers are expecting the company to introduce its next generation iDevice at US International Consumer Electronics Show.
The event starts on Thursday.
