iPad 2 and iPhone 4S Untethered Jailbreak Released

Big Holiday to all jailbreakers! Today iPad 2 and iPhone 4s untethered jailbreak running on iOS 5.0.1 was released after some months of hard work by many ihackers, like pod2g, p0sixninja, MuscleNerd, planetbeing, Saurik, and others. According to hackers, if your iPad is not jailbroken you are literally bereaved of extra features’ that you might have on your computer tablet.

Facts about coming iPad 2 and iPhone 4s jailbreak: This is the first untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S. The implications of this jailbreak are huge, as it will be the first time in a long time that each and every iDevice – and firmware version of the current OS – will have been breached. This is the second jailbreak for the iPad 2. The first one was called Comex Jailbreakme for iOS 4.3.3 and was released this autumn. So it took over 4 months for the first iPad 2 untethered jailbreak to be released, so the iPhone 4S jailbreak was actually released fairly quick.

The iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak is compatible with the following iDevices:

iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1
iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1

There will be three jailbreak tools released that are all capable of jailbreaking the iPhone 4S and iPad 2:

Absinthe – A traditional graphical user interface jailbreak tool
Dev Team CLI – A command line inteface that’s great for troubleshooting
RedSn0w – The Dev Team’s traditional graphical user inteferface used for jailbreaking. This will be released sometime later after the CLI

Absinthe is available only for Mac users now. You can download Absinthe using link from our source. Windows version will be released pretty shortly. The Dev Team’s CLI shouldn’t be too far away either. We are going to post step by step guide on how to jailbreak iPad 2 using Absinthe. Stay tuned.
