How to Uninstall iTunes from Your Mac

It often happens that our applications refuse to do their job correctly they start constantly crashing, freezing or simply stop working at all. In this case we have the only way out to uninstall the particular application or find its latest version. Mostly we can remove the application to the Trash and empty it.
Some applications require special uninstall process. Sometimes we need to delete the whole application folder as well as several files that are stored in the Liberty folder. In case there are some other associated processes working with the particular application, you have to restart your device. For certain applications there are their own uninstall utilities.
Now let’s speak about iTunes
If it is necessary to uninstall iTunes from your device, you can simply delete the application and that’s all. Sometimes you must to do more than that. In rare cases you must remove all the traces of iTunes from your device. But it is more tiring.
Tips for removal
Firstly, you have to open Activity Monitor, then quit and delete the process iTunes Helper from the list of your Login Items. Then try to restart your device.
When it is not enough, you must open ~/Library/Preferences and remove all the files starting with com.apple.iTunes, even those in the ByHost subfolder.
Apple recommends deleting the ~/Library/iTunes folder, but as you know the given folder stores all our iPod and iPhone Software Update files. If you are not sure in this action, you may copy this folder before deleting.
Sometimes you have to do even more work. In some articles Apple states that when your device is not distinguished in iTunes, you’ll have to delete or install the Apple Mobile Device Service once more. Thus you have to remove the file AppleMobileDevice.kext from /System/Library/Extensions and the file AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg from /Library/Receipts/. Then try to restart your device.
Now you’ve done it! It’s high time to launch the current version of iTunes!
