A mobile advertising company has finally found a solution to iPad having problems with viewing Flash.
Smokescreen is a JavaScript library that works around Apple’s resistance against Adobe Systems’ multimedia applications, by converting a Flash file into JavaScript and HTML5 within the device’s browser that does not run on Flash. There is no need for Flash advertising companies to create another version of Flash advertisement in order to reach millions of iPad and iPhone users.
Smokescreen does not require upgrade on the users’ browser, and it runs on Chrome 5, Firefox 3.6, Safari 4, and Safari’s mobile version.
Developers are excited for the availability of the Smokescreen, which will be released in an open-source license, calling Smokescreen an incredible piece of work.”
Meanwhile, others are concerned that a problem can occur as Smokescreen is lower compared to Flash for the reason that it is written in JavaScript. This can be a problem to low-powered mobile devices.
