How to Jailbreak iPad 2 or iPhone 4s untethered using Absinthe 0.1.2-2

Absinthe Jailbreak the hotly anticipated jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 had been finally released. Dream Team hackers worked hard for the last 4 month to bring this untethered A5 jailbreak to our community. Absinthe tool is developed by Chronic Dev-Team – development and 7 others hackers – exploits.

Here is the complete list of Absinthe supported devices :

iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 (9A405 and 9A406)
iPad 2 Wifi/GSM/CDMA running iOS 5.0.1

The current version of Absinthe is 0.1.2-2 and it’s only available for Mac OS X systems.

How to Jailbreak iPad 2 or iPhone 4s untethered using Absinthe 0.1.2-2.

It is highly recommended to backup all your data from you Device.

Step One: Update your iPad 2 or iPhone 4s to current iOS 5.0.1 using iTunes. You can download latest iOS here.

Step Two: Download Absinthe 0.1.2-2 to your computer and extract the archive. Make sure your iDevice is connected to computer. If so run Absinthe.

Step 3: Click on Jailbreak button to start the process. The Absinthe jailbreak will take you through several steps.

Sending initial data. Your device will appear to be restoring a backup, this may also take a while.

Step Four: Almost done – just unlock the screen if necessary, then tap the “jailbreak” icon to finish. (It might be on different home screen, so don’t give up looking!)

Unlock your iPad. The icon you should look for is the Absinthe icon and not “Jailbreak”, it may not be on the first home screen page so you’re better off just searching for it using Spotlight.

Step Five: Confirm you are on jailbreken iPad 2 or iPhone 4s by searching for the Absinthe icon on your iPad 2/iPhone 4s screen after reboot. Locate it and Tap on the Absinthe icon and it will load you the GreenPois0n site. Wait for a while and then after a minute or two and ofter that your iPad 2 will be rebooted automatically. Once your iPad 2 is back ON, the Cydia icon will be on your screen.

Your are runing untethered iOS 5.0.1 iPad or iPhone 4s jailbreak now. I think using Absinthe Jailbreak is one of the easiest tools for jailbreaking iDevices nowadays.
