In addition to supporting digital cameras and SD cards, you can also import videos and photos from your original iPad using the Camera Connector. Here are instructions on how to do it.
Step 1
If you want to import from a camera simply connect the dock connector to USB adapter to your iPad and connect the USB cable from your camera to the adapter. You can also use the SD card adapter to your iPad and insert your SD memory card. This depends on the connector you are using.
Step 2
The iPad will open the Photos app to the Camera tab and display thumbnails of the images stored on your camera or SD card.
Step 3
If you wish to import all the photos you can press on the Import All button at the top right screen of your iPad.
If you want to select the pictures you want upload, simply press/select the images you would like to import then press on the Import button.
Choose Import Selected from the pop-up menu.
Step 4
The iPad will now begin importing your photos or video. The blue selected check mark becomes green once the item has been imported.
Step 5
You will be notified once the import is complete. You can choose to Delete the photos/video from your device or memory card. If you want to leave them just press Keep.
Step 6
You can find your newly imported media under the Photos, Albums and Events tab.
Now you have your photos and videos ready in your iPad.
