How Steve Jobs Is Planning to Fix Suicide Situations at Foxconn

It’s really funny, because Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs knows a way how to fix suicide situation at Foxconn. There were 13 suicide attempts at this Chinese plant since the beginning of 2010. Though the situation is described by Jobs as an overblown one, he is still going to fix it.
Steve has reportedly exchanged some emails with a random guy. And there he said that Apple was party responsible for what had happened at the factory this year. He called suicide rate at the plant to be well below the China average. And Apple is now all over it.
So as you see, Steve thinks that the number of suicides amongst young workers at the Chinese plant is way below average, thus it doesn’t depend on the working conditions on the plant (of course, Foxconn is now planning to raise the wages for its employees).
However Apple is all over this situation. And this is not good publicity for the company that is selling iPads, iPhones and other devices and is very popular among customers from all over the world.
People kill themselves all the time, Steve Jobs said last week. However Foxconn case is a bit different, as most people there are jumpers. He spoke about Walmart and the situation there. If several workers from Walmart jumped to their deaths from the stores’ roofs, would you think maybe something is going on at Walmart, Steve asked.
Yes, it’s Foxconn where workers were asked to sign a no-suicide contract. And this leads to many questions. However, whatever the motivations of employees who are trying to take their lives, Apple might help to improve the working conditions at the plant. Because if anything like this happened in the U.S., such cases would be seen as near-barbaric.
