Everyone seems to be obsessed with the capabilities of the iPad that a hacker modded an iPad 3G, making it work with Verizon’s network.

The modder who is said to have bad experience with Verizon’s network which has recently come under fire due to numbers of issues, hacked the iPad by removing its internal 3G chip, and replacing it with internals from Verizon’s MiFi mobile broadband .

It may be tempting to the iPad users to do the same on their iPads, but the procedure is too costly. It requires an iPad which costs $629 or more for the Verizon MiFi to connect with the iPad’s 3G components. It will be smart to buy Wi-Fi iPad to use with a MiFi, but this hack offers one irresistible feature: a switch.
The switch which costs $2 will be placed in the iPad’s Micro SIM slot, giving the user the capability to turn off the the Mifi at a touch of a switch.
After all the soldering, wiring, warranty and effort, the iPad will have a download speed of 1.1 megabits per second, something that gadget addicts can hardly to resist.
If you think that all of those are worth the amount, time and effort spent, you can go ahead and improvise your iPad.
