Geohot’s Blog and Twitter Account No Longer Available

Geohot has made his blog where he used to announce and upload jailbreaks available to invited readers only. Several years of successful work for the public and such a disappointment now…
The reason for such behavior most probably lies in the following: some time ago the guy developed an iPhone 4 jailbreak and admitted he wasn’t planning on making it available to everyone willing for free. That made his readers go ape.
A single update followed the hot discussion. Geohot said he understood his readers cared about his blog only as long as they were getting something from him. He also admitted he missed the times when his blog had been fully dedicated to technical things the times when he hadn’t been reacting that much to all the feedback he was getting.
Geohot wrote that the failed release of the jailbreak for the iPhone 4 was not due to technical reasons. What he hated was the fact that after blackra1n, people came demanding unlock, and that after blacksn0w, they came demanding untethered. He said he would love to go back to the times when jailbreaking had been more difficult and, therefore, had attracted a totally different kind of people.
Later on, the guy also closed his Twitter account that has 113,761 followers at the moment. When you visit his account, you can only see the words “This person has protected their tweets” with no latest tweets exposed to the public.
Geohot waved the last goodbye by recommending the people to take things easy with something that is just a phone, nothing more than that. He said he was jailbreaking iPhones for kicks and was surely not going to put much emphasis on this hobby of his. A possibility of a comeback for a more formal goodbye was also mentioned though.
