New season of “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena” starts on January 21 at 9 p.m. and Starz premiers an accompanying iPad app and Facebook game.
It starts on Thursday for the first 10.000 fans of Spartacus registered on its facebook fan page and January, 21st for everyone else.
This Spartacus game lets players build a stable of fighting livestock for combats on the arena and even manage their own gladiator school.
The free iPad app of Spartacus will be launched on January, 22 and feature show’s screenplay enhanced by directors’ notes, “exclusive multimedia video segments”, cast photos and other extras.
The application for iPad itself is free, but scripts will cost $0.99 each.
“Spartacus” fans can find everything they enjoy in the first episode of “Gods of the Arena”, particularly over-the-top hack-and-slash action that makes you shrivel.
One of the first scenes in the arena looks actually pretty dirty after overview flashbacks back to the first season. The really nice thing about first season – “Gods of the Arena” tells the origin stories of main characters of the first seasons Batiatus and Oenomaus. Getting more inside those stories is a really nice way to break up the bloodshed.
It’s hard to say if the television show transfers the interest to the “Spartacus” free iPad app or Facebook game, especially when you’ll need to feed your gladiators daily like in Farmville app, still it could be worth trying.
