Facebook , the first to lead in the mobile app development has lost its dominance after the launching of the brilliant Apple applications available in the App Store.
Users preferred to use the applications available in the App store and they have discovered the flaws of the Facebook Android. Users preferred to utilize every update from Apple like the iPhone App 3. Many are also waiting for 3.1.3, the latest update of the iPhone. This is the next update after the launch of the App 3.
Meanwhile, Facebook is planning to launch a native iPad app, but this looks like a failure as users are now searching and utilizing the applications found in the App store. In addition, people are now excitedly waiting for the release of the iOS4 for the iPhone on Monday. Surely, this will leave Facebook in an even challenging situation.
Facebook have made changes to its application like having the ability to see and write messages on the wall, plus the availability to see videos on in the app. However, users will have a hard time finding the video to watch. A good update can be separating the areas for videos and not put it together with Facebook users, profile pictures.
After the resignation of Facebook developer Joe Hewitt because of his disgust to the App Store policies, the site continues to go down. The site promises new update, but fans are waiting in vain since until now, no update has occurred. Facebook’s failure to make the site competitive, contributed to the success of the iPhone development.
Facebook needs to take action if they want to stay in the business. There are 55 million Facebook users who are also using the iPhone. This is something that should make the Facebook developers’ act before it’s really too late.
