Facebook for Siri Plugin [Install Guide]

Since we had lots of requests concerning setting up Siri Proxy we’ve created a support team for solving your questions. Usually Siri can’t help you with Twitter or Facebook. But now thanks to Facebook for Siri plugin, you can be more social with Siri. It lets you check for facebook updates, check facebook notifications, check requests or even share a link on Facebook. Yes it’s complete Siri Facebook integration. To start using Facebook with Siri you just need to instal a plugin. Before using this plugin you have to set up main siri proxy server. How to Install Facebook for Siri Plugin

Step One: You need to generate your unique Facebook access token by:

login to your facebook account
navigate to http://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer
click on get access token button

Permissions you need to add:

user_likes
user_notes
manage_notifications
publish_stream
status_update
read_friendlists
read_requests
share_item
create_note
manage_friendlists
offline_access (You will find that under “Extended permissions”)

Warning: When you update Facebook Siri Proxy Plugin by adding new commands or extra code, you must also generate new facebook user permissions.

Step Two: Place that unique access_token value in your config.yml file, which is located at ~/home/your-linux-machine-username/.siriproxy/. It’s a hidden directory, so you have to configure to show all hidden files. You need to have Siri proxy server installed in order to get Facebook plugin work on your iPhone 4s.

You can open config.yml from terminal by typing when in Home User folder:

sudo gedit .siriproxy/config.yml

Step Three: Open up terminal and navigate to SiriProxy folder used from SiriProxy guide and type following command:

bin/siriproxy update

This will uipdate the SiriProxy source code and bundles as well as will fetch a new copy of Siri facebook Plugin to your Linux machine. Next you have to start Siri Proxy Server by typing:

sudo siriproxy server

That’s all! Start Siri on your iPhone 4s and ask any of the supported commands bellow.

Commands Supported by siri facebook plugin:

"Create facebook friend list"
You: "Create facebook friend list lalalal
Siri: You want to crat a facebook friendlist called lalala
If you confirm siri will say: Sending to facebook, and after making the friendlist, siri will say Your friendlist has been made.

"What's my latest wall post"
siri shows you your latest wall post
For Example:
You: What's my latest wall post?
Siri: Your latest wall post is: blablabla
Finished-- (Works)

"Check facebook requests"
Siri checs your requests, nothing more to say...
For Example:
You: Check facebook requests
Siri: 'You have no new friend requests' or 'You have new friend requests'
Finished-- (Works)

"Make a facebook note"
Siri makes a facebook note for you
For example:
You: make a facebook note blablabla
Siri: What's the subject of your note?
You: lalala
Siri: Here is your note:
then a SiriAddViews appears (The same frame like WoflramAlpha)
With your subject and your text
Siri: Ready to send it?
You: Yes
Siri: Posting to facebok...
If you say no, siri will say Ok, I won't send it

"Share link on facebook"
Siri shares a link you want on facebook
