Soon iPad users will be able to extend their tablet’s dock. Infinidock app designed by chpwn for the iPhone is finally coming for the iPad. This application will enable horizontal scrolling. However Infinidock 1.3 that is currently launched is not created for the iPad.
While Chpwn warns everybody not to use their app for the iPad because it might lead to some big issues, let’s take a quick look at what this application could bring to tablet’s users.
For now you can just add more icons to your iPad dock. That’s pretty much it. At the same time if you get some tweaks from Cydia you can truly improve your iPad’s functionality.
With Infinidock you’ll be able to add as many icons as you wish in your dock. You will be able to scroll through them. Besides this, it will be possible to even organize your icons in pages.
Infinidock is available on Cydia for $0.99. Once you install it, your tablet will respring and return to the homescreen. Now you should open Settings.app and choose the preferences for the Infinidock app.
At this point you can enable the paging and organize the iPad’s dock just like the Springboard. You can also select a number of icons displayed per page. You might try to enable the scrolling snap too, but we recommend you not to do so as it can put your tablet in persistent safe mode (if this happens you should get rid of the mode by deleting the .plist preference file with the help of an application such as iFile).
Infinidock is perfect for you in your iPad is jailbroken. However, if your tablet isn’t jailbroken, you should better wait till a complete Infinidock app is released specially for the iPad.
