Apple tried to develop iTunes LP with the intention of giving the consumers an improved and brand new way of listening to the album of their favourite bands or artists, but the effort did not gain success mainly because of its limitations. EMI music will try its luck with the release of similar feature called Until One for the iPad 2.
EMI music managed to bring music apps sold in the iTunes to a new level and has recently released Until One for the iPad that features Swedish House Mafia’s latest album. The new app includes additional features like music videos, photo-gallery, written pieces from the band, and documentaries. It also includes an option to access the artists Facebook or Twitter account and so much more.
EMI confirmed that is now in partnership with Eagle Rock Entertainment in creating new versions of already old albums from classic bands like Nirvana’s Nevermind: the purpose is to bring tons of additional features and new music experience for the users. With the new app users will also be able to enter their opinions and comments.
This is very much a test of a really new and exciting technology platform that will push the boundaries of what you can do on a tablet, said Cosmo Lush, the company’s vice president for digital business development, EMI said.
Until One is currently available in iTunes for $9.99. Though this app includes a lot of new features its fate in the business is still blurry knowing the choice of music of the new generation has changed and scope of the app is currently very limited. However, the music firm is planning to release more albums from different popular artists. Bjork has announced that she’s working on a new project called Biophilia, which is set to conquer the internet with music apps.
This new development alters the traditional way of delivering music to the audience with the help of the iPad 2. Hopefully Apple can do magic with LP and will finally make it available for iOS devices like the second-gen iTablet.
