Many of us are following Apple’s novelties and checking them once they are available for sale.
The iPad AirPrint, with its bright concept, is definitely a must-have for every iPad owner and photography fan but the device appears not to work smoothly all the time with this new iOS 4.2 feature.
We’ve checked with the latest comments and found out that the tablets couldn’t see the HP e-Printers very often and no one seemed to know why.
If you are running into the same difficulties the iPads House writing team took a deeper look and now has prepared some advice you will find rather useful.
e-Printer Doesn’t Work or Turns Off
Let’s start from the very beginning. You’ve had your iPad for some time and now moved to iOS 4.2.
Sometime during the first and the second time you purchased your HP e-Printer and anticipated the joys of usual things to be done wirelessly with iPad AirPrint. But it didn’t work. Or probably it did work but then turned off for no reason.
Are you determined to make it make it work but don’t know what to start with? Let’s see how you may try to troubleshoot the issues.
Free ZeroConf Browser for iPad
Begin with getting a free iPad app ZeroConf Browser.
One of its features will let you see all the wireless devices from your tablet including the misbehaving printer.
This browser is a clue which will prompt you if your tablet is able to recognize the printer on the wireless network. It will also indicate if your e-Printer works as it should.
This is the starting point where we check the workability of the devices in question.
Investigation
The answers will show where further investigation should take place.
If the iPad can see all the wireless devices except for your iPad printer the problem is in either your printer as you might have guessed or in your wireless network.
In case your tablet can’t see any wireless device try to reset it and see if the issue will be fixed then.
The owners of iPad 3G may attempt to go to Settings and switch off the 3G signal. It doesn’t seem to be connected with the initial problem yet it proved to be helpful for some users making it possible for them to print then.
Shared Printing on iDevices
Another way out is shared printing. You will need to share you e-Printer via your Mac and work things out through shared printing. Trying this will provide essential answers since if shared printing works but direct printing doesn’t it might be the printer to blame.
To try everything possible and be sure you’ve done everything you could try updating your wireless router. There is little chance for success but every little counts, and your AirPrint will finally work.
The iPads House writing team hopes that fixing iPad AirPrint issues will be easier with the tips mentioned above. If you have your remedy which helps please feel free to share it with us in the comments below.
