External GPS receiver can be connected to your iPad if you use BTstack GPS application designed by Matthias Ringwald. Are you excited?
The same app can also run on the iPhone and iPod touch. GPS application is based on BTstack. This is an open-source Bluetooth stack developed for iPhone firmware.
You can’t run the app in parallel to native Bluetooth, thus you need to turn off Apple’s one and re-enable it only after you have quitted GPS application.
The new app costs $5. But a demo version is free.
