Competition Between Web Giants Hots Up

Apple is planning to launch a new advertising network in July, which will mean more competition between the company and its arch rival Google.
Apple is seeking to increase its market share of this sector, shortly after a market research report stated that Google’s Android mobile operating system has the lion’s share of web consumption. Quantcast, who conducted this research, found that the Google operating system has increased its share of the market in all sectors.
Apple’s iAd is set to make a significant difference in mobile marketing, as browsers will be able to remain within the app while viewing advertising content, as ads will be part of their normal web consumption.
Apple is advertising its new system extensively and has already pumped 42 million pounds sterling into publicizing the advent of the iAd, a figure which is roughly half of the forecast for its spending on advertising for the last half of this year.
Pundits believe that Google will respond to this new rival and so competition between the two rival companies will be stepped up. Hopefully, this will be of some benefit to the consumer.
