Gadget users who are troubled by the unfriendly price of the popular iPad can now find an alternative, as Shenzhen, China releases the iPed.
iPed only costs $150.00 compared to the Apple iPad’s $500.00 on its lowest quality iPad. Before jumping into buying the new iPad, the buyer needs to do some thinking as the new iPed does not possess the qualities of the Apple iPad.
Though the iPed looks similar to an iPad Tablet, its features of ipad are inferior. The iPed appears to be heavier than the iPad, and has a smaller memory of only 16 gigabytes compared to the iPad’s 256 megabytes of RAM. This can be a very big markdown specifically to the music lovers who are fund of storing thousands of music in its media library, consuming a couple hundred of storage memory.
Another markdown is that the iPed does not run any of the iPad OS and is currently utilizing Cupcake, a codename used for its 1.5 of the Android OS. The device also runs a 600-MHz RockChip processor compared to the iPad’s 1-GHz A4 processor. Resolution wise, the iPed possesses a not impressive resolution of only 800 by 480 pixels, while the iPad has 1024-by-768-pixel screen.
It’s not also clear if the iPed supports Wifi and other networking functionality that the iPad is capable of running. Other versions of the iPed will be released soon as planned by its manufacturer.
