iPad’s life relies on its internal rechargeable battery. Let me give you some tips on how to charge the battery of your iPad effectively.
You can charge your iPad by connecting the included cable and the 10W USB power adapter to a power outlet. You can also connect it to a high-power USB 2.0 using the included cable.
Always keep in mind that some USB 2.0 ports and accessories don’t have enough power to charge your device. In this case, you will be prompted with a not charging message on the iPad.
You can see the status of your charging through the charging icon located at the upper right corner of your iPad. Using your iPad while in the process of charging will make the charging process longer. So it’s better to let it finish charging and then use it after.
Since the iPad utilizes rechargeable batteries, you must know that those need to be replaced at a certain time. These batteries have maximum number of charge cycles. The battery will decrease its life once the maximum cycle has been reached. The number of charge cycles vary by use and settings, and you can see its complete information on the iPad Technical Specifications.
Don’t Charge iPad Using PC USB Connection
The best and the fastest way to charge your iPad is using the 10W USB Power Adapter. You can charge it using your PC, but only when your PC is in sleep mode. Your iPad won’t charge if your computer is turned off.
Here’s another tip. If you charge your iPad using your computer’s USB 2.0 port, make sure that it’s not on a standby, sleep, or hibernation mode. The iPad won’t charge if connected to an older accessory that only supports FireWire charging, and an error message will appear.
You can charge your iPad only if you use Mac computer. PCs don’t have enough power to help your device’s battery get energy and life.
My iPad Won’t Turn On
When your iPad is low in power an icon will appear notifying that it needs to be charged. Usually after ten minutes your device charges well enough to turn it on.
But this can vary from the amount of battery left in your iPad. If it’s extremely low in power the charging time can take longer. For example, my iPad was charging for 7-8 hours (I was using my LG phone adapter). And I was able to turn the device on only after 2 % of the battery was charged. And this happened in an hour or so I just don’t have the original Apple iPad adapter, but phone adapter is ok for traveling.
In case you won’t see the white charging or plug icons, try connecting to the 10W power adapter. It will surely work better than my LG adapter.
There you have it guys. Always remember that taking care of your iPad gives it a longer life. When it comes to taking care of your iPad, you can get the best tips from us.
