11 May 2010 | Apps |

All the anticipation and aura of mystery surrounding the Apple iPad was finally hauled over as Steve Jobs released the latest Apple tablet computer to the world on 3rd April 2010 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco . In just over a month of its release, the Apple iPad has managed to generate sales of over 1 million of their products.

The Apple iPad works on the same lines as the iPhone, but contains a host of new features as well. Even though the same operating system is used by the iPhone and the iPad, it does not mean that it is exactly similar to the iPhone. The Apple iPad contains support for all the applications that can be deployed in the Apple iPod touch and the Apple iPhone, but a lot of new Apple applications are also supported in the Apple iPad, such as e book readers etc. The 1024×768 pixel resolution takes nothing away from the sharpness and vibrance that is provided by the Apple iPad screen. The device features a high resolution display of 1024×768 pixels and does not lack anywhere when it comes to graphics and colors. It offers stunning graphical displays and the touch interaction is perfect and extremely smooth.

The Apple iPad contains a 256MB DRAM which is integrated in to the Apple a4 package, providing a fast working environment for busy users. The design of the iPad is such that is supposed to be used with bare fingers only, not with gloves or a stylus pen. The Apple iPad has a light sensor which automatically adjusts screen brightness and contrasts depending upon the environment. A 3 way accelerometer sensor is also included in the iPad, which can easily judge the orientation of the iPad and change the screen accordingly for either a portrait or a landscape view. A switch for locking the screen is also provided which restricts the actions of the accelerometer sensor, providing easy rotation. Just like the iPhone, the iPad offers an icon that literally converts your iPad to your iPhone and you can listen to your favorite music on your favorite device. However, its size causes a hindrance in carrying it around with you and it is best to keep your Apple iPad on your work table to provide as much efficiency as possible. The brilliant graphical display is epitomized while playing the games that are supported with this device. Even though it is actually designed to be used as a tablet computer, the Apple iPad features a SIM tray which can be used to provide mobile connectivity for traveling individuals.

The Apple Ipad runs on a powerful lithium ion polymer battery which allows a powerful battery back up and life so that users can enjoy their iPad applications and data for a longer period of time without having to constantly recharge their batteries. The iPad’s place at the top is thoroughly deserved.
