But according to the Apple it is 7 hours for video play back on the 3G iPhone and 10 hours for the 3GS.

These are not the figures for reflecting the experience with the iPhone those are employed. Graphic intensive applications like racing games can drain the lithium polymer battery of the iPad if you do not use charger on time. The device also belongs within a bag or it can be on a table top, so that it can remain near to the charger and power plug.
