This week children and their parents of course will be delighted to see new 10 Nook eBooks that can already be checked and read.
These books are free to download via Nook application. They tell us about various aspects, both real and not so real, of our lives. Reading lets us gain experience we might never have in our lives and learn from the mistakes of others.
The iPads House writing team is happy to offer these interesting titles and we hope to have a feedback in the comments below.
1. Becoming Seven: Year One by Carla Krae: Quite a lot of iPad stories for children start with the main characters finding out that they are not like other people. This is true about Carla Krae’s Becoming Seven book. Della is a sixteen-year-old girl and lives a perfectly normal life. Then she meets a vampire and sees how much different she is. The girl is very important for the Order and they seem to do everything to make her join them. But before Della can make a choice she needs to know the origin of their power and who all these people are. Will she like the answers she might find?
2. Becoming Seven: Year Two by Carla Krae: This is a second free book in this series and it continues the story of a young girl Della. She is now torn between what she is supposed to do with her new nature and people she loves. It is never easy to abandon your dearest ones but when the whole world is in danger we simply do not have any choice. Though rather short like the first part this book for iPad will give you some food for reflection and ideas to sleep on. We are very much convinced that you will want more after reading it.
3. Becoming Seven: Year Three by Carla Krae: Sometimes the time can trick you when you believe you are perfectly safe. Della is in her third year and the graduation is closer and closer which means a lot. There is no certainty what she will do then and it is rather frightening. Of course the young girl can be as regular as everyone there if we may say so about all these people. Or she might become an agent and again it will change her life completely. The third part of Carla Krae series is not very long but it is full of second thoughts and hopes.
4. The Emo Bunny That Should, A Story For Demented Children by John H. Carroll: I’ve never before read stories about Emo Bunnies so this one intrigued me a lot. The main character is a sad Bunny which lives a sad life, enjoys walking down the cliff on rainy days and other things that may end his unhappy life. The Bunny is seriously ill in my opinion and needs urgent help but the author makes something happen to him and things change. The Bunny becomes interested in something which is not his habit and gets involved into something weird that might change him.
5. Uncle Flynn by Simon Dillon: Have you ever tried to search for the hidden treasures? Eleven-year-old Max Bradley accompanied by his uncle Flynn has a map and some clues that will lead them to it. Together they will go through unexplored dark tunnels and unravel the hints they have to succeed in their search. But the two of them are not the only ones who want to possess the treasure the police and other hunters are very close and after so many lucky escapes young Max starts to suspect that his uncle is not an ordinary man.
6. Vengeance by Wilde Blue Sky: I am not sure that this free eBook will be good for children of all ages and would recommend it only to the oldest ones because the content and the problems raised are not for the small ears. Debbie got lost and is scares. She is completely alone, she thinks so but as you might have guessed there is someone else hiding until the right time comes. This is a serial sex offender who found his next pray and is enjoying every moment of hunting it. This horror story made me leave my apartment at daytime only for several days, I hope you will like it.
7. The Curious Appearance of Mr. Fiddlewitz by A.D. Barker: Will you let a stranger come into your house if he claims he used to live there fifty years ago and wants to look around the house for the last time? Mr. Fiddlewitz looked spooky but his desire to be close to his childhood for the last time in his life made the Halwoods let him in. Soon these people will understand that this man came back not to enjoy the atmosphere he was used to but to wake up dark secrets the house has been storing while he was away.
8. Melanie’s Secrets by Emily Ward: Halloween is a good topic for every kid because the opportunity to scare others is so alluring, there will be no boundaries to one’s imagination and acting skills to make people believe what they are listening to. This short story is about a Halloween party where high school students tell various stories. The peculiar thing about these stories is that all of them are about their friend Melanie who seems to have lots of secrets one will be frightened to discover.
9. The Thirteenth Unicorn by W.D. Newman: Two children find a portal which leads them to the magical world inhabited by elves and dwarves. But as usual nothing can be ideal this beautiful world is fighting against a witch who has been trying to join with the last wizard who is not free now. If they manage to do it then there will be no piece ever. Though the lovely elves and dwarves have already taken over the witch once this victory is not the final one and there will be new battles. Ben and Casey have found good friends and will everything to protect them.
10. Hearts for Rent by Crystal James: This free iPad book features 6 young people of about twenty years old when the time of the most important decisions has come in their lives. Will the beautiful guy go to school and forget about his dream to become a Broadway play? Will the girl who fell in love at first sight be able to understand the secrets that her lovebird has? Will these secrets not make her go away? The story has a lot of drama, is full of love and losses. No matter how hard it is to choose something you do not like, sometimes it is the best decision.
